Spiderman is a popular superhero that graces the pages of Marvel comic books.

The first appearance of Spiderman was in the comic book Amazing Fantasy #15 back in August of 1962. Behind the mask of the superhero is an orphaned teenage kid, named Peter Parker, with similar problems to typical teenagers. These problems allowed readers to relate to Peter, and contributed to the success of Spiderman.

Spiderman, also called "Spidey," "web-slinger," "wall-crawler," and "web-head" has made a name for himself in multiple comic series (including Ultimate Spiderman), cartoons, movies, action figures and more.

His first and longest lasting feature was in the comic book series The Amazing Spiderman. He is arguably the most popular superhero to date.
