spinning

When you were a younger version of yourself, spinning was done on the school yard with your friends or while you danced to your favorite CD.

As you grew older, spinning became a way to tell your side of the story. If you and your sister got into a fight and your parents demanded to know exactly what had happened, you would "spin" your side of the story to make yourself look less guilty.

When you became a teenager, "Spin" was your favorite pop music magazine that featured articles and interviews with some of the latest and hottest bands.

When you went to college, you found that there are professional "Spin Doctors" that help companies and politicians.

Later, you learned that article spinning is a Search Engine Optimization (SEO) technique whereby website or blog owners are able to modify content to get it distributed more places on the internet without a duplicate content penalty by the Big G (Google).

As you got even older, spin was what you put on your bowling ball as you sent it down the lane during your bowling league every Thursday night.

And finally, as a grandparent, you may find yourself "spinning a yarn" to entertain your grandchildren. Bloggers speaking about spinning can be found at sites like jumaka.
