Questions I received on various discernments one makes along the spiritual path: Question: Baal HaSulsam says, “Make yourself a Rav and buy yourself a friend.” What is the difference between “making” and “buying?” And how do you make and buy someone? My Answer: “To make” means to exalt someone (to see them as great), and “to buy” means to invest in someone.
