What’s the news? Basically for the past few months we’ve been: -Getting the studio put together, more so aesthetically and less gear-wise these days. But my new 8-Core Mac Pro (Ursula) is very happy in it’s new home.  -We have successfully put up 4 bass traps.

Today, we debut our new redesign of the home screen of AllThingsD.com. It is, in fact, our second redesign since we launched the site in late April of 2007, although it is a much more drastic redesign, with a lot more elements added. Why did we do it? No, we are not hyperactive (OK, we are, but we are taking medication for that).

MAY 2008 - what went down this spring?? By Alan | May 5, 2008 In January I wrapped up recording tracks for the new Mile Marker Zero album due out May 23rd. The band and I worked closely throughout the fall and winter laying down what I would consider to be the most EPIC thing I have recorded yet.

After finishing my April Birthday journal a couple of days early I am back with the Canson sketchbook I left at the beginning of the month. I spotted the ballerina keyring in one of those 2p machines at the seaside arcades and just had to win her.

I made a a really stupid mistake Thursday night. Cheryl and I had decided to be helpful after being asked if we could do her sister a favor. So after visiting her father at St. John’s Hospital we headed towards Turn Out Dance Studio on Stevenson Drive in Springfield, IL.

Basically for the past few weeks I’ve been building my patchbay. It’s the heart of any studio. It consists of hundreds of wires criss-crossing behind the console. Patchbays exist so one doesn’t have to rewire the console in the back every time you want to change something. This way, it’s all in the front and accessible.
