Threesome: Superman’s songs
http://zedequalszee.com/ 2008/ 08/ 13/ threesome-supermans-songs/Inspired by a pub trivia question about the Crash Test Dummies song, as well as an NPR story on Superman’s birthplace (no, not Krypton - Cleveland, OH), here are a trio of songs about the Man of Steel. Three plus a bonus, actually - you can choose between Laurie Anderson’s cerebral version of ‘O Superman’ or the dancefloor-electronica M.A.N.D.Y.

That Was The Worst _____ Ever!
http://www.butterteam.com/ 2008/ 08/ that-was-worst-ever.htmlIn only a few short months the familiar sounds of Christmas music will trigger your Pavlovian urge to spend, spend, spend in hopes of attaining those perfect but elusive holiday moments. It may also trigger the annual series of self-evaluation and actualization questions (am I happy at clown college?), or just your deeply cynical resistance to the commercialization of all things Christmas.

Art on John Goraj New Album
http://natashasartcandy.com/ 2008/ 08/ 07/ art-on-john-goraj-new-album/I met John Goraj sometime last year. His music is beautiful! It is a warm, bluegrass folk music style. His work reminds me alot of Iron and Wine or Sufjan Stevens. He wanted to use one of my paintings for his upcoming album, and I said yes. The new album, Possible is absolutely wonderful and [...]

Don't Be Scared Scooby...
http://besttuna.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 07/ dont-be-scared-scooby.htmlAviary Ghost Genre: Indie / Experimental From: Bloomington, Indiana United States They look like the geeky brothers of The Young Knives and their name conjures up Sisters of Mercy style goth but Bloomington's Aviary Ghost produce sweet and catchy folk pop that sounds like Sufjan Stevens has emigrated to Sweden to learn every chord of 'Hatful of Hollow'.

Sufjan Stevens' Illinoise for $5
http://bittersweetblue.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 07/ sufjan-stevens-illinoise-for-5.ht…Had to mention that for a few days you can download Sufjan Stevens' classic for just $5. Not only was Illinoise the best album of2005, in my opinion--it's also my favorite Stevens release ever, with one of my favorite songs of all time, "Casimir Pulaski Day." If you're new to the indie music genius of Sufjan, this would be a great introduction.

Cover Song Bacchanalia!
http://volume-knob.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 07/ cover-song-bacchanalia.htmlCover Song Bacchanalia! So, being the uber-geeky music-tard I am, I was up until the wee hours last night, spurred on the by the idea that, given enough artists covering other artists, that "chains" of covers would appear, and, perhaps, ultimately a "loop" of covers--that is, one artist who

The Best Concerts I've Seen
http://www.pastemagazine.com/ high_gravity/ 2008/ 07/ the-best-concerts-ive-seen…I just finished posting the 12 best concerts I've ever seen. Rather than have them all in 12 separate posts, I thought I'd consolidate the list here. I was recently digging through a pile of ticket stubs I've saved, finding cool concert after cool concert, from high school, college and especially, these last six years since we started Paste magazine.
