survivor

Survivor is a reality television show that airs on CBS, pitting contestants in the wilderness to compete for cash, prizes, and the title of "Sole Survivor". Survivor uses a system of progressive elimination, allowing the contestants to vote off other tribe members until only one final contestant remains.

Survivor has been extremely successful in the ratings and is currently in its 22nd season.  Host Jeff Probst will continue as host for at least two more seasons. Over 40 countries have also broadcast their own versions of the show, but many only lasted for one or two seasons. Many television critics consider Survivor to have started the American reality show craze.
