In the zone with SVM and JET...
http://blogs.sun.com/ mrbill/ entry/ in_the_zone_with_jetIn the zone with SVM and JET... We now have a decent OS image, our root disk layout finished and mirrored, along with the associated metadbs live. You DID test at this point and make sure that the template file checks out and the target machine installs, right? The partitions that we need to use for zone allocations are created for us, slice s6 on each of our 8 disks.

DISKSUITE DR 1) get disks devfsadm 2) get multipathing working cd /opt/IBMsdd/bin ./cfgvpath ./vpathmkdev ./showvpath - get serial numbers and figure out mapping 3) get disk serial # of prod and DR cd /opt/IBMsdd/bin/ .showvpath to work A hole in DR is the disk serial number of prod machines On STL machines Explorer output is in /export/home and we get that via TSM restores, but it does nto have disk serial numbers. We would need this to get prod /etc/lvm/md.tab info thru metastat output /profile_restored does not have this info. 4) build lun mapping table (staring point is info storage team needs to provide) For example (order may not always match) 5) Edit /etc/lvm/md.tab focusing on device that soft partitions are created from, in this case d50. Add one soft partition for starters. d7 1 1 c1t1d0s3 (this came with turned over UNIX machine, keep it here and in vfstab) d50 6 1 vpath1a \ 1 vpath2a \ 1 vpath3a \ 1 vpath4a \ 2 vpath5a vpath6a -i 32b \ 2 vpath5c vpath6c -i 32b d52 -p d50 -o 62914624 -b 62914560 6) make new config active - metainit -a 7) check work with metastat 9) add to vfstab 10) test vfstab via mountall Disksuite - DR
