Whether you're a Beard or a Skirt, nothing stays in fashion like a good old fashioned t-shirt. From Marlon Brando and his t-shirt in "A Streetcar Named Desire" to Charlie Brown's infamous zig-zag t-shirt that he would wear everywhere, t-shirts have been in style for decades.

Normally collarless, buttonless, and pocketless, a t-shirt usually has short sleeves and is surprisingly comfortable. Once worn mostly in industry and on farms, the t-shirt has now become an acceptable form of outer garment for men, women, and children of all ages.

The recent trend in t-shirts is the "human billboard" where a t-shirt advertises a company, and idea, or just an opinion of the shirt wearer.

T-shirts first became popular in the USA when they were given to members of the U.S. Navy during the Spanish American War. In the beginning they were meant only to be worn under a Navy uniform, but quickly caught on as a stand alone garment.

T-shirts got their name due to the shape of the shirt's outline, as they look like a "T" when laid out on a bed or on the floor.
