t1 internet
Going directly from dial-up internet to T1 internet would be like traveling in a time machine from the 1800's and stepping out into today. Of course there is an in-between, as commonly only businesses use the T1 line because of its expense and capabilities that far surpass what a family or individual would need in the home. A T1 line carries about 60 times more data than a normal residential modem. The T1 circuit can both send and receive 1.544 Mbit/s of data simultaneously.
A T1 internet connection has the ability to share hundreds of users with no problem, unless they were all at the same time downloading video or other large media files.
T1 internet is exclusive to you (or your business). DSL may be shared among hundreds of users. The level of service is generally better for a T1 internet connection because of the hefty price tag. Imagine the tongue-lashing a provider would get if it went down at a business and took more than a short while to remedy. It is also not nearly as common for this to happen with a T1 internet connection. A T1 internet is known for its reliability.
