    Lemon Tart with Candied Lemons

    http://buttersugarflour.com/ 2008/ 08/ 03/ lemon-tart-with-candied-lemons/

Lemon Tart with Candied Lemons 03Aug08 Mmm, I love lemons! Sometimes only seen as the sour yellow cousin of the mighty orange or the accompanying friend in many an alcoholic beverage. They are one of the very few fruits which can be used well in both sweet and savoury dishes and they are available all year long.

Amy Sedaris - Cinnamon Sour Cream cake

Amy, Amy why hast thou forsaken me? This caketh didn’t turneth outeth! I approached this recipe with some trepidation. The first line states ” You will be putting the cake into a cold oven and then setting the temperature to 180c/350F/Gas 4 and baking for 55 minutes” which goes against most cake baking handbooks and experience where the first third or half of the time in the oven are crucial.

Grape and Honey Goat Cheese Tart

    http://macandcheesereview.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 07/ grape-and-honey-goat-cheese-ta…

It's been a grape-tastic weekend! A weekend I've been looking forward to since last year's harvest of grapes, and the most delicious, cherry-pie-like grape pie. Grape Pie! Do it. You'll thank me later. This year's harvest of grapes from three vines growing on a pergola was much more bountiful than last year's.

Thanks to two varieties of lemon trees in our backyard, we have a lemon glut. What better excuse to make Lemon Tart? The recipe calls for blind baking of the crust, which sometimes can be a little tricky. I've picked up a few tips along the way, as shown below.

So far, the summer in New York City has been relentless–hot, sticky, humid or rainy just about every single day, and often a combination of all four, so I wasn’t kidding when I said this heat is getting to me, and has all but sapped my desire to cook.

    Chocolate Raspberry Tart

    http://www.chocolatebytes.com/ chocolate-raspberry-tart/

Tarts may seem like a lot of trouble but they really couldn’t be easier. If you don’t have a tart pan you can use a springform pan, or just put it in a pie dish! Chocolate Raspberry Tart Crust 1 1/2 cups chocolate wafer cookie crumbs (about 6 ounces plain chocolate wafers) 6 tablespoons (3/4 stick) unsalted butter, melted 1/4 cup sugar Preheat oven to 350°F.

As a way to force my family to eat locally and organically, I have had a local farm service, Farm Fresh To You, deliver produce once a week. The service, which gives us a week's worth of fruits and vegetables for two adults and two children, costs $29 a week.
