pedroncelli 2005 Mother Clone Zinfandel (Dry Creek Valley)
http://lennthompson.typepad.com/ lenndevours/ 2008/ 08/ pedroncelli-200.htmlThis is one of the first wines I got as part of my partnership with the California Wine Club, and I have to admit that I really enjoyed it. I've long been a fan of Zinfandel, and I particularly liked the QPR of this one at $15. A medium-dark cherry red in the glass, the nose is everything you'd expect -- cherries, raspberries, red licorice and black pepper.

Gozalez Byass ‘Solera 1847′ Oloroso Dulce
http://www.tintoyblanco.com.au/ wine/ gozalez-byass-solera-1847-oloroso-dulce/Yes, its time for another cream sherry tasting note. This one kicks goals however…A buggar to take photos of though. A really enticing nose of wood and nuts, with a touch of raisin, coco powder and nutmeg. Creamy and intense in the mouth with notes of hot chocolate, dried fruit, hot cinnamon, orange peel and nice wood.

Augusti Torello Mata Reserva 2005
http://www.tintoyblanco.com.au/ wine/ augusti-torello-mata-reserva-2005/I like some bubbles on a Friday night, its always a good way to kick of the weekend I have been drinking a bit of the Raventos i Blanc Reserva 2005 and needed something a bit different so I grabbed a bottle of this fairly new import from The Spanish Aquisition.

Gonzalez Byass ‘Elegante’ Sweet Cream
http://www.tintoyblanco.com.au/ wine/ gonzalez-byass-elegante-sweet-cream/What can you say about cream sherry? It’s is the quintessential ‘Nana’ sherry. It’s what many people reference of when they think of sherry, the big jugs of McWilliams Cream Sherry sitting at the bottom of cupboard that their grandmother used ‘just for cooking’.

Crispy Cat Candy Bars
http://sugarsavvy.net/ 2008/ 08/ 14/ crispy-cat-candy-bars/Crispy Cat bills itself as “the first candy bar made with organic ingredients” and currently comes in three flavors: mint coconut, toasted almond, and roasted peanut. I was lucky enough to get a free sample of each for review purposes.

An Negra Vit ‘Son Negre’ 2005
http://www.tintoyblanco.com.au/ wine/ an-negra-vit-son-negre-2005/This is the top shelf offering from An Negra Vit. It’s made from the best vineyards these guys have access to with an average vine age of 55 years. What makes these vineyards special is the cooling sea breeze at night that cools the vines down from the heat of the day.

Gonzales Byass ‘Elegante’ Medium Dry Amontillado
http://www.tintoyblanco.com.au/ wine/ gonzales-byass-elegante-medium-dry-amontil…Now, this is a blend of Amontillado and PX. I’m not too sure on why Gonzales Byass has a fascination with adding PX to perfectly good Palomino based sherry, but here is another example. I’m assuming that this is a throw back to the bad old days of exporting a range of sweetness levels to the UK.

Wolffer Estate Vineyards 2005 Claletto Cabernet Sauvignon (Long Island)
http://lennthompson.typepad.com/ lenndevours/ 2008/ 08/ wolffer-estat-2.htmlNow this is something a little different and definitely delicious. Winemaker Roman Roth has outdone himself with his Wolffer Estate 2005 Claletto Cabernet Sauvignon ($85), a wine that makes his 2005 Barbera (Long Island's first) seem absolutely pedestrian.

An Negra Vit ‘AN’ 2005
http://www.tintoyblanco.com.au/ wine/ an-negra-vit-an-2005/When most Aussie think of Mallorca they think of Christopher Skase, perhaps a party island culture, or maybe a boat load of poms completely binned out of their brains on the beach. But not wine. I’ve known that wine was made here but I never had an idea of the quality available.

Skittles Chocolate Mix
http://sugarsavvy.net/ 2008/ 08/ 11/ skittles-chocolate-mix-2/My wife handed me a pack of these after a shopping trip Stateside… She has picked up on the whole blogging idea and now if she finds some new candy, she’ll either point it out or go ahead and buy one. At first, I was completely taken by surprise and I wasn’t sure if I was being handed chocolate or chewy candies.
