I know its not the best practice in the world and doesnt even apply to you but I always stick my pick between the pickguard and body on the cut away part. I think you can see what I mean in my avatar if you look closely.1 day ago -

Rimu Build
Telecaster Guitar Forum —

Found a plank of rimu that had been tucked away in the garage for a while, took it to a joiner who kindly cut into it and glued up a two piece blank for me. It started out at 45mm, but was a bit twisted. After thicknessing and sanding Im left with a touch over 40mm, also not the lightest, so Im guessing a thinline ...2 days ago -

I have a figured maple plank thats 5 feet tall by 1 3/3" thick and 9 3/4 inches wide. The guy who gave it to me said he has been walking around it for at least 10 years in his living room. I have 2 of these planks but I decided to use some for my own builds. I would like to sell or trade it but I have no idea how ...2 days ago -

I would say that the 2 terminals on the top of your switch as youre holding it in the pic are the 2 that get connected together as the output of the switch. Its hard for me to tell on my phone whats happening on the other side of that switch. Can you take any more pics that show the metal contacts & the solder ...4 days ago -

hmmm.... lovely! I am seriously jealous that you are able to find stable and dry wood. I live in Ghana and that is the biggest problem. they have gorgeous wood as well but hardly anything which one can use without any problems.. took me about a year to find the one satisfying source. If you happen to travel to ...4 days ago -

Wiring two jacks to one guitar
Telecaster Guitar Forum —

From memory the ROS extra socket is just a normal stereo jack. If you use two mono jacks (one for each pickup) you would have problems playing both pickups into the one amp. Unless you were to have two cables from the guitar, of course...)1 week ago -

What are you going to use to build up the neck pocket? Do you have any pieces left from making the body that you could use to match the color & grain? (that is, if you made the body)1 week ago -
Cut fret slots before or after gluing on fretboard?

.5" to .75" behind the nut sounds good then for the extra fretboard length. I checked a blem GFS neck that I have and it seemed to have a 1.5" radius at the transistion from the nut to the peg head...a 3" sanding drum, properly applied, should do the trick.1 week ago -
