If you have access to a drill press and forstner type drill bit, pre drilling a good portion of the waste makes the cut easier to start, more controllable because you are not hogging off a lot of wood, and keeps the bit sharper longer. Mighty Mite Tele Body Ferrule holes--Too small

I used a $3 reamer I bought off ebay. I had to modify it though and cut some of it off. Take your time, when the ferrule will go in almost half way I stop reaming and knock them on in so they will be tight but not too tight. Nothing wrong with a MM body. Here is the reamer I use.19 hours ago -

It does many jobs well and is relatively inexpensive. I use mine all the time. But the table isnt all that stable--you should check it for square before you use it each time. Its well worth the money imo.3 days ago
