Telecommunication is simply communication over a distance with the use of technology. Since the invention of the telephone, telecommunications have expanded to include cellular and digital technology.

Now telephones, cellular or wireless phones, internet and VOIP phones that use internet technology are all commonly used methods of telecommunication.

Personal communications can now be made 24 hours a day from any place because individuals are no longer restricted to using a land line or even a phone line because of digital technology.

For business communications, conference calling is a common form of telecommunication between 3 or more people. With the use of the internet, conference calls can also include correlating visual content, making the virtual meeting a web conference.
