As I’m pretty sure you all know, I work for Seattle-based record label Light In The Attic, and because of this I really do try and avoid needlessly shilling the Light In The Attic products.  But beloved readers, this time I just can’t help myself.  Today, Light In The Attic is releasing what I consider to be in the top three releases in the label’s short history - Rodriguez’s Cold Fact.

I have a lot of favorite movies (maybe because I’m indecisive and can’t just pick one favorite) and Fiddler On the Roof is definitely there in my top … 50. Yes, it is old, and some of it a little silly, but it is a classic and teaches some good lessons, all the while maintaining a good balance of comedy with serious issues.

I remember hearing Whalebones for the first time, while slightly intoxicated in the back of a strangers car.  I remember being impressed and remember mentally reminding myself to right down the name of this rambling, near-epic, organ-exploding band.  I, of course, completely forgot the next morning.
