Thermage is both a trade name for a cosmetic medical treatment, and the name of the equipment manufacturer who produces the device. 

Thermage Skin Tightening uses controlled pulses of radio frequency energy to contract or 'tighten' collagen in the skin by heating the mid layers of the dermis. The effect of this dermal heating is that the skin collagen coils, in effect shorting the end points. When the happens over an entire area the effect is to 'tighten' the skin. Patient selection is key for Thermage skin tightening and treatment outcomes are highly variable. The effect is never as dramatic as a cosmetic surgical procedure but the low risk factors and non-surgical nature of the treatments has lead to an increase in Thermage's popularity.
