The mere mention of these words sends the imagination soaring. A backpacking trip through several European countries. A cruise to the islands of the Caribbean. A white-water rafting trip in North America. A scuba diving trip off the Florida Keys. Laying on the beach. Deep sea fishing. Staying at a resort. Camping. Horseback Riding. Amusement Parks.

Whatever the case may be, a tour is something that gets us out of the "Rat Race" (if only momentarily) and away from the work-a-day world and the daily grind. Tours can be one of the best things in life, and are where some of our greatest memories are created.

Tourism is one of the most common leisure activities in the world. And the trend is growing. Last year (2009) there was over 948 million international tourist arrivals across the globe. And the international tourism industry topped $946 billion USD last year.

A tour may be something you and your friends or family have been planning for years and years, or it may just be something you do on a whim or very last minute. But, no matter, a tour renews the spirit and strengthens the soul.
