travel blogs

A great way to travel vicariously through the eyes of another is to read travel blogs.    Travel blogs are blogs written exclusively about travel.  Reading a travel blog is much like reading the personal diary of a person experiencing a new location for the first time, or revisiting an old favorite and experiencing the memories and familiarities of the place. 

You can visit a place through the eyes of a photojournalist and see unsurpassed beauty and insight to another culture.  Or through the eyes of a parent planning a stress-free family vacation.  Or through the eyes of a woman traveling solo and the challenges and opportunities that presents.

Many great professional travel writers and guidebook authors keep travel blogs as a way to stay connected to their readers and to offer up-to-the-minute travel advice. 

You can read travel blogs to escape to a faraway place, or to get travel tips on actually going there yourself.  Most travel blogs focus on a specific type of travel such as ecotourism or adventure travel.  Find one that matches your travel style and get lost in another world.
