Tummy Tuck Surgery (or Abdominoplasty) is an operation considered within Plastic Surgery. Although it is much more involved than liposuction, it is often considered as an alternative to it for improving the appearance of the abdomen in women following childbirth.

A Tummy Tuck can involve the removal of skin and fat as well as the tightening of the abdominal muscular wall. As such it is much more powerful than liposuction alone in rejuvenating the abdomen especially in woman after childbearing has been completed. On the negative side, a tummy tuck comes with a longer scar and a longer period of disability than liposuction does. Pain pump development has improved this substantially however.

Celebrity blogs occasionally posit that a postpartum celebrity may have had this surgery (e.g. Angelina Jolie) or report upon a tragedy as in the case of the post tummy tuck death of Donda West.
