tweaks

Tweaks are usually small changes that are applied to software or hardware to change, disable or enable a feature. The most common form of tweaks are software tweaks which can be further divided into operating system tweaks and third party software and service tweaks.

Operating system tweaks, like Ubuntu or Windows 7 Tweaks, can be applied by programs that provide the functionality or by editing configuration files manually. This is usually the registry in Windows.

Third party software tweaks come in all forms and shapes from web browser and other local software tweaks to tweaking online services such as Facebook or Google Mail.


Tweaks in this context are often used in conjunction with tips and tricks.
