I was diagnosed in February as Type 1 after suffering blurred vision, weight loss, frequent uriniation and BGL of 400. My first A1C was 9.1. Since that time, I have been pretty strict with diet and exercise. I am only taking 10 units of Lantus at night, with no Apidra needed during the day.

Hi everyone, I'm on levemir basal insulin. I inject twice a day. What are the best methods to test I am injecting the right amount of insulin?? I inject at 11.00/23.00. The morning shot is 15 units and the night/before-bed shot is 25 units.

For today's posting, I've included a video which is really a full-length television segment featured on ABC's 20/20 news program which showed back on October 11, 1999. The irony, however, is that in spite of the fact that this program aired nearly a decade ago (9 years ago), not much has fundamentally changed since the program first aired.

I've eaten the exact same breakfast and lunch as I had yesterday taken the exact same amount of insulin.. yet Yesterday morning reading 118 after breakfast 2 hours 200 pre lunch 100 2 hour post lunch 95 treated a hypo of 53 3.5 hours past...

Sooo they started me on insulin yesterday :( I have a night time one and a day time one.Im using the pen instead of the needle.Its not horrible but I certainly dont like it. Buut everyone was right when they said pricking your finger hurts more.And it was much appreciated that you guys told me

Day 6 and 7 – Its a Wrap Well the last couple of days didn’t involve too much. Woke up Sunday morning and headed of to the morning session of the swimming. We managed to see Michael Phelps first of many Gold medals this games, even saw Aussies first Gold also with Stephanie Rice.

I know all too well that it is worse to get a transplant than take shots, but does anyone here, (just wondering) know anyone that has had a successful pancreas transplant? I was just wonding because i have heard of people getting them, but there body rejects them... Im also not really up on all of the tech.

Ok, so my wife finally talked me into going to the doctors(I'm reluctant to go since I lack health insurance) and she decided to put me on a new type of insulin... But I'm sort of at a loss right now, and pretty sure that the dosage/instructions she gave me will do me no good heh...
