type 2 diabetes
Type 2 diabetes is when the body becomes resistant to insulin. Insulin, a hormone, acts like a key and unlock cells to let glucose enter. In type 2 diabetes, the keyhole becomes rusty and insulin doesn't work efficiently. To help combat that resistance, someone with diabetes must limit the rate that they ingest carbohydrates (they eventually turn into glucose), increase her sensitivity to insulin with exercise, or take medication or extra insulin.
There are thousands of people who document their experiences on diabetes blogs. They share advice on how to find a diet that is both effective and still satisfying or techniques for keeping blood sugars in check. It is a complex disease and knowledge is repaid many times over with better else and a reduced risk of diabetes complications.
