The United Arab Emirates is a conglomerate of seven emirates (states) including Abu Zaby, 'Ajman, Al Fujayrah, Ash Shariqah, Dubayy, Ra's al Khaymah, and Umm al Qaywayn.

These seven states have played a vital role in the affairs of that region. A lot of this has been due to the UAE's generosity with their oil revenues and their moderate foreign policy with other countries.

The UAE has an open economy. Since the discovery of oil in the UAE more than 30 years ago, the United Arab Emirates has changed considerably. Whereas it used to be an impoverished area of small desert cities that hardly anyone even knew about, it has since undergone a profound transformation. It is now a modern region with a very high standard of living (Funny how oil will do that, eh?).

The UAE's Free Trade Zones (offering 100 percent foreign ownership and zero taxes) have also helped attract foreign investors to that corner of the world.

With all the changes that have come to the area, perhaps it's time you discover the United Arab Emirates.
