Sylvania's G Netbook Meso reviewed, pushed aside

    http://www.engadget.com/ 2008/ 08/ 20/ sylvanias-g-netbook-meso-reviewed-pushed-…

Filed under: LaptopsWe won't say it got picked dead last in kickball or anything, but Sylvania's G Netbook Meso certainly isn't the class king. The ho hum netbook was recently reviewed over at Laptop Mag, and while critics did applaud the Ubuntu Netbook Remix operating system and relatively great battery life, the 512MB of RAM hindered performance.

Ubuntu Netbooks vs. Mobile Internet Devices: What’s the Difference?

    http://www.workswithu.com/ 2008/ 07/ 22/ ubuntu-netbooks-vs-mobile-internet-devi…

Sorry if I’m the only person who’s confused about Canonical’s mobile Linux strategy. Ubuntu Netbook Remix on the Eee PC

Last year when Asus released the original Eee PC 7xx series, a colleage and I made a lunch-time trek to Central Computers down the street and each picked up a 701 with 4 GB SSD and Linux. The stock distribution is Xandros based. That’s great since Xandros is Debian based itself, but not so great since it seemed configured specifically to resemble Windows in many ways.

Ubuntu Netbook Remix will NOT boot in 5-10 seconds

    http://www.liliputing.com/ 2008/ 06/ ubuntu-netbook-remix-will-not-boot-in-5.htm…

Earlier this month, Canonical's Gerry Car indicated that Ubuntu Netbook Remix would be able to boot in as little as 5-10 seconds. It turns out that isn't true. UNR is basically a custom version of Ubuntu Linux designed for low-power laptops with small screens and Intel Atom CPUs.
