    Interfaces for Museumgoers

    http://hyperexperience.com/ ?p=1173

While on vacation in France recently, I had the fortune to visit a few of the world’s leading museums, both in terms of the art displayed and the incredible quality of the exhibit design itself. Museums serve different roles for different people - as tourist destinations, research institution, and entertainment complexes.

    http://www.beyondthejob.org/ ?p=538

Universal, or “barrier-free” design, as defined on the AARP web site “are those home design features that make a home safe and comfortable for everyone, young or old, whether they have a disability or not. It’s making a home for all ages”. This means, for an example, adding grab bars to a bathtub or perhaps installing a wheelchair ramp at the front door.

    Future Near: Universal Speech Recognition

    http://speedchange.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 06/ future-near-universal-speech.html

In a discussion on Enda Guinan's blog what began as a conversation regarding trying to explain to people what we [those of us in AT-related jobs] actually do when we go to work transferred over to a conversation involving speech recognition, which is one of the things which provides the wow factor when we demonstrate.

New Wiki on UDL for All is a Valuable Resource

    http://nolimitstolearning.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 06/ new-wiki-on-udl-for-all-is-val…

Paul Hamilton has a great blog called Free Resources From the Net. I have been going there for quite some time and enjoy his resources. He shared with me that he has a new wiki on universal access called "udl4all." I have been working very hard this spring on developing a training model for teachers that will help them explore these tools and put them to use in the classroom.

udl4all is a wiki that I have started recently. I hope it will serve as a resource for anyone with an interest in Universal Design for Learning (UDL). I’m especially keen that it be useful for teachers who are looking for ways of better supporting ALL the learners in their classrooms.

A List of Top Accessibility Tech Tools for Learning

    http://nolimitstolearning.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 06/ list-of-top-accessibility-tech…

I met with our IT managers yesterday for a discussion on implementing accessibility tools on all computers in all 12 districts within our 7 county region. I have to say right at the beginning that I am so fortunate to work with some terrific open-minded folks that want to do what is best for students.
