    Abandoned Bed and Breakfast Photo

    http://www.thegrrl.com/ 2008/ 08/ abandoned-bed-and-breakfast-photo.html

This is one of my favourite photos from this place. I also took a lot of photos of pebbles and rocks with grass growing through the cracks. I love rocks, pebbles and stones. I thought I would try out one of those photos as a blog background.

    Inside an abandoned soapland

    http://www.japanprobe.com/ ?p=5706

Michael of the Big Red Dot blog recently explored an abandoned soapland in Ibaraki Prefecture, taking lots of cool pictures: The Queen Chateau Soapland Haikyo in Mito, Ibaraki, is at once a grand but squalid folly.

Some weeks ago, a fellow by the name of Troy Paiva contacted me about his new book that would be coming out soon — only asking if I’d like a copy of it. So of course I jumped all over the offer and told him that I could do a review of the book on the blog.

More discoveries from this morning's New York Times. (OMG! Print newspapers! So random-access! So serendipitous! What an innovative technology!) We've been hearing tales about this unique little subculture for a while, but the Times has a wonderful piece today about the folks who purchase

In a world where most treasure has been exhumed, and no hidden corner of the earth left unexplored, where do you go for real adventure?

Mission: Storm Drain near the Mississippi River Status: Active Debrief: We met up shortly after 9pm (around dusk) at a small park within walking distance of our entry point. Same gear as before, with the addition of my sadly underutilized HD cam. We discussed the plan, and the need for discretion (and quiet) on our approach.

    Mike Tyson’s abandoned mansion

    http://completist.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 07/ 25/ mike-tysons-abandoned-mansion/

Mike Tyson is one of my generation’s most tragic tales. He became the youngest to ever win the Heavyweight title and was on top of the world by the early 90’s. He had everything you could imagine and so much more. Fame, women, cars, extravagant parties, you name it.
