    Frustrating User Experiences: iPhone Mail.app

    http://almaer.com/ blog/ frustrating-user-experiences-iphone-mailapp

One of the most common tasks that I have as I check email on my phone, is jumping between work and personal email. This breaks down for me on the iPhone due to the menu system. When you are on one inbox: you then have to go back, through the list of folders, to the accounts screen: At this point you then have to go back into the other account.

Making It Easier to Send Email to Contacts

    http://www.microsoftweblog.com/ making-it-easier-to-send-email-to-contacts/

Today as I was working on developing some items for clients, I was reminded of another small frustration I have with Microsoft Office Outlook 2007. The application is built for email management right? I use it to quickly and efficiently send emails to friends, family, business colleagues, prospective clients, etc.

    Rue-La-la: Exclusivity makes the eXperience

    http://sensorymetrics.com/ 2008/ 08/ 19/ rue-la-la-exclusivity-makes-the-experie…

OK - I’m not used to sites greeting me by “Mitch, ooh la la!” Nor am I into shopping for purses and shoes that are SO me! I was intrigued by the buzz about Rue-La-La though. The site is exclusive - you have to be invited. Once you’re in, you are presented with “time-bomb” boutiques - storefronts that sell brand name expensive stuff for a few days only.

When the Sales and Marketing Stops, Does the Community Start?

    http://dougmcclure.net/ blog/ 2008/ 08/ when-the-sales-and-marketing-stops-does-…

Just thinking out loud here… What’s it really take for a community to start and evolve? Who must participate? Who shouldn’t participate? Who should facilitate? How does the “What’s in it for me” get addressed? Is this really what a community serves? Free support, free tools, utilities, open access to information?

    Frustrating User Experiences: Wordpress Categories

    http://almaer.com/ blog/ frustrating-user-experiences-wordpress-categories

I use Wordpress a lot, and love the product. But, when you are working with something every day, you see its quirks too, such as the Wordpress Media Upload. This time though, I have to mention the categories system.

Creating your online experience: Don’t be the capsule hotel

    http://www.thewavingcat.com/ 2008/ 08/ 19/ creating-your-online-experience-be-th…

When you’re creating the online experience for your organization, brand or even yourself, keep this simple advice in mind: Don’t be the capsule hotel, be the dinner party. It may sounds somewhat strange, but when I stumbled upon these two images I couldn’t help using them to illustrate this point: A shared online experience is always better than a solitary one.

Smashing Magazine Article On “Futuristic” UI’s

    http://www.usabilityblog.com/ index.php/ 2008/ 08/ 19/ smashing-magazine-article…

This article has been making the rounds today. Thought I’d do my part to keep the meme alive. OK, this isn’t really a meme. But it’s an interesting little compilation of UI concepts. Of course the author cites Adaptive Path’s Mozilla Labs effort called Aurora.
