Utah is a state rich in history. Settled in July of 1847 by Brigham Young and the Mormon Pioneers, the original name bestowed upon the state was “Deseret,” meaning honeybee. The name was later changed to Utah, which means “in the tops of the mountains.”

Before being settled, Utah was a very desolate desert region, but was predicted to one day “blossom as the rose,” which it has lived up to unequivocally. The population in Utah presently stands at around 2.7 million. Utah boasts many outdoor wonders such as the Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks.

Unique to Utah is its outdoor splendorous “purple mountain majesty,” attracting like a magnate large crowds of skiers, hunters, and ATVers. Utah valley is consistently rated as one of the most livable and family-friendly places in the nation. The Utah Valley Marathon showcases the niceties of life (such as the Provo River Blue Ribbon trout fishery) that natives of “Happy Valley” have come to cherish deeply.
