Vans are automobiles that are slightly larger than an average car but more efficient than the average mid-size truck on the road today. Until recently, they were typically box-shaped, but as of late have become more aero-dynamic and sleek in design. Vans are also a convenient means to move big items which do not normally fit in a car.

"Vans" is also the brand name of a popular shoe company. While their main focus has been on skateboarders and snowboarders, they have also produced shoes strictly for fashion, although most pairs will still be made with the famous sticky sole skateboarders need. Vans shoes were first made in 1966 and consistently rose in popularity over the years.
