veganism
Veganism is a term that was created when people started to "cheat" on their vegetarian diets and began including animal by-products. Therefore a vegetarian diet, in the West primarily, may include eggs, dairy and perhaps fish.
A vegan, however, will not include any animal foods, or animal by-products into their daily diet. They will consume an exclusively plant-based diet. Their diet may include items from the food pyramid such as vegetables, fruit, nuts, seeds, seaweeds, legumes, beans, tofu, etc.
Another variation of the vegan diet, is what has been referred to as a "beegan" diet, which by definition is a vegan who will also consume bee by-products such as honey, bee pollen, propolis and royal jelly.
