Vehicles are any type of device that can be used for transportation. While originally referring strictly to the air, water and land transportation of people or cargo, the term can also be used figuratively, to describe that which transmits, expresses or embodies an idea.

Modern vehicles can be either man-driven or automated and are often coordinated or monitored through various vehicle tracking systems.

While land vehicles are typically known as cars, a vehicle that does not operate on land is usually called craft, such as aircraft, spacecraft and watercraft. Land vehicles can be further classified by how the drive force is applied, as wheeled, tracked or railed.
