violence
Violence is the use of physical or psychological force with the expressed intention of inflicting harm, injury, or the exacerbation of suffering, or the willful and deliberate destruction of property.
Some have argued for the use of political violence as a means of bringing attention to the injustices of particular segments of the population. This conception, however, is challenged by the more widely accepted notion that social awareness can only manifest from nonviolent means, a point that was supported by Martin Luther King and Mahatma Gandhi.
The practice of violence as a tool of social reform is antithetical to the practice of pacifism. Violence, inherently, disallows for the possibility of negotiation and diplomatic resolution.
Bloggers readily discuss violence as it is, unfortunately, a global phenomenon. Within the blogosphere, the topic of violence is of particular interest because where there are incredible acts of violence, there are always more questions than answers. Bloggers can participate in curbing the effects of violence by communicating and sharing their ideas, a practice that reinforces peace and diplomacy.
