No matter if you are a young person full of ideas and ideology or just a Blue Hair running out the clock down in Florida — most people have one thing in common: a Visa Credit Card.

The original design of the Visa Credit Card was unique in that the blue and gold represented the blue sky and golden-colored hills of California where the card was founded. However, the logo was changed in 2006. The new logo has a simple white background with the name VISA in blue with an orange flick on the 'V'.


Visa stands for Visa International Service Association and is one of the largest international companies in the world. In fact, it boasts the world's largest retail electronic payment network.

Consumers, merchants, businesses, financial institutions, and even government entities all utilize Visa in one way or another. In fact, at one point in time, the Visa Electron was said to hold 44 percent of the credit card market share and 48 percent of the debit card market share in the United States.

A visa is also a stamp on a passport that gives an individual authorization to enter a country.
