Cleaning Up Denver: Free Haircuts for the Homeless

    http://www.allamericanblogger.com/ 3485/ cleaning-up-denver-free-haircuts-for-th…

You remember when company was coming over and the house had to be spotless. You’d dust in areas that you normally neglected, or organize the magazines on the coffee table. You’d keep looking for stuff until the company arrived, then take a deep breath and open the door, hoping they don’t see the mess you hid.

Using the Passion of God’s Design

    http://www.agileministry.com/ 2008/ 08/ 20/ using-the-passion-of-gods-design/

My wife has posted a blog that I thought many of you would find interesting about responding to our God-given purpose: So this got me to thinking… how many of us are walking around this world, designed by God for a specific purpose, but not responding to that purpose? In which Questions are answered…

    http://insnarkville.com/ 2008/ 08/ 19/ in-which-questions-are-answered/

First, I got an inkling that the list might be up early, because the office staff goes home at 4pm and who in their right minds would come back at 5pm just to put it up?  So, Duke and I walked to school at 4:15pm to play on the playground and check it out.  Sure enough the class lists were up and joy of joys, Duke was *IN* a class!!

    >br> Have any of you bloggers heard of, or perhaps participated in, Blog Action Day? I think I remember it last year, but thanks to Marijke of Help My Hurt and Womb Within, I know about it early enough this year to participate. In a nutshell: Blog Action Day is an annual nonprofit event that

    August 19th…..Oh boy……

    http://gingerporter.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 08/ 19/ august-19thoh-boy/

August 19th…..Oh boy…… I can not believe that August is flying by so quickly.  I wanted to start schooling with the kids the first of August but ended up with family members here and that just does not work. My husband has offered to take over some of the subjects for me.  He has offered to teach at least math and science.

    New Orleans

    http://steveonbroadway.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 08/ new-orleans.html

New Orleans My apologies in advance, folks. This morning, yours truly will be heading to New Orleans for my first time since before Katrina hit three years ago. While I'm going to be working "day job" day and night during a business critical meeting, I'm excited that on Thursday morning, I'm going to be able to join with a couple hundred others in an ongoing clean-up activity.

    Good Deeds As Money Debt

    http://www.al6400.com/ blog/ 2008/ 08/ 18/ good-deeds-as-money-debt/

Recently I was looking for some volunteer help for a fun project and a person I knew seemed very motivated to try and help. It seemed like he was really going above and beyond and I commented on how I was in his debt now as a way of implying if he ever needed any help I would equally go above and beyond as well.

Press releases from the City of Destiny

    http://weeklyvolcano.typepad.com/ spew/ 2008/ 08/ press-releases.html

MATT DRISCOLL: LOOKING BUSY FOR THE BOSS >>> It’s been kind of a slow news day here at the Weekly Volcano. It’s enough to make a guy wish there was another submerged car out there at the bottom of some little used lake. Anything would be good. We did receive a couple press releases from the City of Tacoma today worth passing along.
