    The power of unmarried women

    http://www.everydaycitizen.com/ 2008/ 09/ the_power_of_unmarried_women.html

I received this email from Women's Voices Women Vote. As a single woman I couldn't believe that I hadn't even thought about myself as a demographic group. Perhaps this study isn't talking about unmarried, professional women with no children, but irregardless (children or no children), the fact of the matter is we (women) make less than men.

    Let's get out the vote!

    http://www.everydaycitizen.com/ 2008/ 09/ lets_get_out_the_vote.html

I am extremely excited about the way this election has gotten young people interested and engaged in the issues. However, I admit I fear complacency in November. I am truly hoping that my fears will be baseless.

    What’s At Stake, What’s Possible

    http://www.letfreedomringblog.com/ ?p=3131

What’s At Stake, What’s Possible A couple of nights ago, I wrote a ‘peptalk’ letter to the BPOU to outline what’s at stake in this election and to tell the activists what’s possible. Here’s the text of that letter: With the Democratic Convention starting soon and with the GOP convention following immediately after that, this November’s election will be behind us sooner than we imagine.

Over the next few days, the press will spend a significant amount of time talking about the deals forged between Clinton and Obama, the roll call vote, or the perceived drama that exists between the two political giants.

    The truth about voter turnout

    http://sanityinjection.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 08/ 22/ the-truth-about-voter-turnou…

Posted by sanityinjection on August 22, 2008 It has been a truism so far in the media coverage of the Presidential race that a big part of Obama’s strategy is the assumption that Obama’s unique qualities will drive up voter turnout among populations that have been underrepresented in previous elections, and that these groups (especially African-Americans) will make the difference in the election.

PART 13: NEOCONS STILL TRYING TO GET AWAY WITH THEIR EXTREMELY STUPID PROPAGANDA ABOUT GEORGIA, OSSETIA, AND RUSSIA

    http://www.realliberalchristianchurch.org/ wordpress/ ?p=2579

I don't watch TV. Is it true that the mainstream news on TV is reporting that Georgia was right to surprise-attack the South Ossetians? Mike Whitney took some figures from a Russian doing some independent commentary from Russia: "In a 2006 referendum, 99% of South Ossetians said they supported... ...

"If Youth Vote, Obama Wins" - Yes, But It's a Little More Compicated This weekend Craig linked to an Op-Ed by Nate Silver of FiveThirtyEight.com in the NY Post that extrapolated an Obama win in November if turnout trends from the primaries held true.

Voter apathy reigns in Montgomery County as primary draws a mere 11.86% turnout

    http://www.clarksvilleonline.com/ 2008/ 08/ 08/ voter-apathy-reigns-in-montgomer…

I have been covering elections since 1968, back when I was too young to vote but old enough to be a journalist covering the elections. Just like the soldiers old enough to ship to Vietnam but not old enough to legally vote against that war.
