A wart is a small rough tumor usually on the feet or hands that resembles a cauliflower or solid blister. Warts are caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV) and are contagious. There are more than 100 types of HPV viruses. Warts treatment techniques include salicylic acid (like Compound W), cantharidin (chemical treatment), liquid nitrogen (freezing) and natural anti viral wart removal formulas. Genital warts must be treated by a doctor. The viral infection has no cure, so the warts may return after treatment.

The common wart is raised with a rough surface and is most commonly found on knees and hands. The plantar wart is a lump, sometimes painful usually found on the pressure points of the feet.
