… research scientists, led by Sea Lane Biotechnologies, has created the first comprehensive monoclonal antibody libraries against avian influenza (H5N1) using samples from survivors of the 2005/2006 bird flu outbreak in Turkey.

I saw this at my favorite Weather Blog, and wanted to pass it on. This is an ominous picture! This waterspout occurred on April 20, 2008 off the coast of Delaware. For more pictures click HERE. Fortunately, waterspouts rarely continue onto land to cause any damage.

The other day on the boat trip back to Parrot Cay from shopping on Providenciales (and from Tony's final kidney stone related doctor's appointment) we passed some storms out to sea. Suddenly Tony nudged me and said, "see the tornado?" There were actually up to 4 in a row at some points, but I managed to capture a couple of them here.

Squall December 5, 2007 It was awesome. Strong winds swayed the trees and other vegetation outside the house. Rain suddenly appeared and made them dance harder. A fine mist gathered, casting the noontime into an unnatural twilight. To top it off, other witnesses reported seeing a circular wall of wind, bringing with it rain.
