Web sites can monitor traffic and analyze which pages garner the most views so as to determine popular trends in web surfing.

Web hosting is a service that allows companies and individuals to make their website accessible over the Internet. Web hosting companies provide an array of services, including server space and internet connectivity for website owners, but also data center space and bandwidth for other companies.

Web hosting companies enable customers to upload their own design and content, as long as it adheres to the company's guidelines for using their server space. The client can upload data to the web host, who will then publish the content on the Internet. Many web hosting companies offer various tools that their customers can use to build a web page and generate web traffic easier. Web hosts also offer step by step instructions on how to put together a website and will help clients include photos, videos, content, polls and other applications, into their web pages.

There are many different types of web hosting services that website owners can choose from. Free web hosting services are often limited and usually feature advertisements on the website that you create. Shared web hosting is a service where your website will be running on the same server as many other websites. A dedicated hosting service allows the client to rent and administer an entire web server. Managed web hosting services allow users to have their own web server, similar to a dedicated hosting service, but the users do not have full control over it.
