The weekend, Saturday and Sunday in the Western world, is synonymous with rest and relaxation for many people. Some practice their religious devotions on one of these two days. It is true, though, that others prefer not to conserve their energy, but to catch up on projects or play as they deem appropriate.

There is a separate category of people who altogether skip over any activities completely, and simply choose to lie back on something soft like a latex mattress and snooze the weekend away.

Lest we forget, there are also those brave souls (who for reasons of necessity or choice) don't take any kind of break on Saturday and Sunday, but continue on laboring as if it were part of the regular workweek. Some of these weekend warriors may provide the rest of us with a service that cannot be done without, such as medical care or law enforcement.
