The Dark Knight, now the second-highest domestic grossing film of all time, after Titantic, has finally been knocked of its number one perch after four weeks by the higher gross-out film, Tropic Thunder. The Ben Stiller-directed comedy, starring Stiller, Jack Black and the Iron Man himself, Robert Downey, Jr.

One of these weeks, The Dark Knight will not be the #1 movie at the American box office. Unfortunately for Pineapple Express, this is not that week. I know The Dark Knight has no chance to catch Titanic’s epic box office performance, or E.T.’s 16 chart-topping weekends in a row, but I can still dream, can’t I?

Guess what movies made more or less money than other movies this weekend! I'll just tell you: 1. The Dark Knight - You have to feel bad for every other movie that isn't The Dark Knight right now. With the summer starting to wind down a bit, the weekend box office was at its lowest tally of the season. However, there was still enough business to send The Dark Knight to number one again and help it become the third highest grossing movie of all time.

  The Fourth No. 1 helps make The Dark Knight the third-biggest film of all time. Bruce Wayne made like Bruce Jenner this weekend, as Batman took home the box office gold yet again. Sony’s stoner comedy “Pineapple Express” couldn’t cop the session’s top berth, despite a heady $40.5 million in estimated domestic grosses since bowing Wednesday.

The Dark Knight continues its record-breaking streak at number one at the box office for the fourth week in a row. It pulled in $26 million this weekend, bringing the grand total to $441.5 million and it has moved into the position of third top-grossing film of all time, knocking out the previously third ranked flick Shrek 2.
