Wild Thing
http://pattihaskins.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 05/ 15/ wild-thing/The Etsy Plush Street Team blog is featuring members’ posts detailing the plush that they each created for the Storybook & Fairytale Project/Challenge. I am a member of that team and have been working away on my contribution every spare moment that I could find. Clean house? Forget it.

http://www.scene-stealers.com/ blogs/ save-spike-jonzes-where-the-wild-things-ar…This isn’t the newest of news, but scary stuff is happening with the Spike Jonze/Dave Eggers adaptation of “Where the Wild Things Are.” Here are some photos from the movie and a link to the petition being circulated to save Jonze’s vision fo the film, which is supported 100 percent by the book’s author, Maurice Sendak. Where are the wild things?

Hollywood Clip Joint: Another “Point Break” & “9/11,” NC-17 by Herzog, “Wild Thing,” “Porno” pic
http://www.scene-stealers.com/ blogs/ hollywood-clip-joint-another-point-break/Seventeen years after “Point Break” washed up in movie theaters, surf’s up for the sequel! Are they kidding? I cant imagine it will star either Keanu Reeves or Patrick Swayze. From the Hollywood Reporter: “Point Break: Indo,” with Jan de Bont aboard to direct. An Asia-based follow-up to director Kathryn Bigelow’s original, which starred Reeves as an FBI agent casing a gang of surfer bank robbers.

Storybook and Fairytale Project - Wild Thing
http://www.plushteam.com/ 2008/ 05/ storybook-and-fairytale-project-wild.htmlMy plush partner in fairytales was BeBe Babies and Friends and her choice of stories was Where The Wild Things Are as well. Lucky me. I love that book, mostly I love Maurice Sendak's drawings and his sense of humor. I made Moishe by crocheting several different types of yarn into my version of Sendak's monster.

We've had Eurasian collared doves, a sharp-shinned hawk, a roadrunner, and even heard some calls of different birds that we haven't been able to see.

http://debrisblog.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 05/ 11/ be-not-schmuck-be-not-obnoxious-b…In one of those wonderful incidents of iPod serendipity, these two songs came up in sequence yesterday. This is why I love the “shuffle” function. Assholes — The Damnwells Pablo Picasso — The Modern Lovers

nature in action, again
http://bottger.typepad.com/ pondering_the_world/ 2008/ 05/ nature-in-actio.htmlOn Tuesday we were heading out to feed our Starbucks habit when Steve pointed out the roadrunner in our yard next to the bench.... eating another of our baby finches. While most people might recognize that roadrunners eat things like snakes and lizards, they don't think about the fact that these birds are carnivores.

Yes, Virginia, Santa Claus is a pervert
http://debrisblog.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 05/ 09/ yes-virginia-santa-claus-is-a-per…A detail in this story left me scratching my head in wonder. No, not the fact that a suspected child molester made his living as a Santa Claus impersonator; that is totally unsurprising. The perplexing bit is in here (emphasis added): Neighbors and colleagues know Corliss, who acted under the stage
