To connoisseurs who know their fine spirits, Whiskey is nothing less than the Rolls Royce of alcoholic beverages.

Although pop culture images portray movie cowboys throwing back shots in western saloons and modern rock stars swilling Jack Daniels from the bottle (the legendary Los Angeles rock club Whisky A Go-Go even takes its name from the beverage), most true aficionados of fine Whiskey will tell you that it is a drink to be savored, rather than slammed. The older the vintage, the better too — especially when we are talking about a good scotch.

Distilled Whiskey comes from a variety of fermented grain mashes including barley, malted barley, rye, malted rye, and wheat. In addition to Scotch Whiskey, the most popular types include Bourbon fermented in
southern U.S. states like Kentucky and Tennessee, Canadian rye and of course English and Irish Whiskey.
