Here are some great widgets to keep you up-to-date on the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. Below are a couple of examples with a few more available from the NBC Olympics website. While it’s nice to have different widgets to accommodate different users and websites, we would have liked to see a single widget that could deliver the content of all 7 widgets combined.

There are already some Chat to IM widgets around and that get quite a lot of use. but pretty much all of them are from third parties. they are made as a communication gateway for a third party Multi IM client. that is of course good on itself and we will see more of them later but first i want to talk a little about Windows Live Messenger IM Control or Live IM Control for short.

It is not the first time that the Live Search does a promotional search engine with a animated host. they did it with ms.dewey but it should be clear it was not as high budget as the Left vs Right  search is as it counts with a better done series of political humorous skits that play with you searches or other kind of “killing time” skits the virtual hosts do if you don`t search for anything.

ConcertAttack.com is a Social Network for live music and concerts. You can share concert experiences, pictures, videos and reviews with other fans and artists. You can also buy concert tickets, watch artist video tour journals, make friends with other fans get concert related widgets for your Facebook, Myspace and other social network profiles.

Over the weekend, I re-explored archive.org and their Live Music Archive for the first time in over a year. I was impressed with some of the changes they've incorporated through their integration with etree.org (a lossless live show repository I've been using since 2000).

I recently added a Feedjit live traffic feed widget to the side bar of the blog which shows the geographical location of blog readers. I was amazed to see that the blog had been read today in Mongolia (perhaps Genghis Khan is an avid fan), as well as Chile, Rwanda, Brazil, Thailand and Malaysia.
