Popular American actor and rapper Willard Christopher "Will" Smith, Jr. was born on September 25, 1968 in
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is considered a triple threat in the entertainment industry having enjoyed success in music, television and film.
Will Smith started as the MC of the hip-hop duo DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince. They gained critical acclaim for winning the first ever Rap Grammy Award in 1989. He has since released 4 solo studio albums, selling a combined 20 million units worldwide.
In 1990 Smith starred in the successful NBC sitcom The Fresh Prince Of BelAir. The show aired for six seasons.
Will Smith's impressive filmography includes roles in: Bad Boys (alongside Martin Lawrence and Tea Leoni), Independence Day, Men In Black, Ali, The Pursuit Of Happiness and Hancock. He is the only actor in history to have eight consecutive films gross over $100 million in the domestic box office as well as being the only actor to have eight consecutive films open at #1 on the domestic box office as a lead actor.
Smith married actress Jada Pinkett in 1997. Together they have two children.
