windows 7

Windows 7 was released in October 2009 as the latest version of the Microsoft Windows operating system for personal computers.

The Windows 7 operating system was designed to be compatible with Windows Vista applications while offering improved performance, increased functionality, and new features like the new home media networking function, HomeGroup.

Certain functions that have been long associated with the Microsoft Windows operating system, like the Start menu user interface, have been modified and replaced with a drag and drop taskbar called the Superbar.

Also, Windows Photo Gallery, Windows Movie Maker, Windows Calendar and Windows Mail were removed from Windows and are now available separately in a package called Windows Live Essentials on the Microsoft website for free.
