    http://www.brewha-ha.com/ pabst-why-the-blue-ribbon

And here’s your answer: Pabst changed the name to Pabst Blue Ribbon since it was the first beer to win a blue ribbon at the Chicago World’s Fair in 1893.

Do Something This Weekend of July 11, 2008

    http://geekoutnewyork.com/ 2008/ 07/ dstw-080711.php

“A journey round the world. A look back in time, and a window on the future. A treasure house of religious faiths. A procession of products. And a dream of ‘Peace through Understanding.’”1 Geek Out It’s the World’s Fair! I’d imagine the bulk of my readers never got a chance—due to lack of funds, lack of time, or lack of existence—to attend the 1964-65 World’s Fair in Flushing Meadows, Queens.

    UGLY GUS

    http://4urpets.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 06/ 27/ ugly-gus/

The 20th Annual World’s Ugliest Dog contest was held last Friday at the Sonoma-Marin Fair in Petaluma, California.  Unfortunately the World’s Ugliest Dog contest was not aired on TV, so most of America missed it. Luckily, it will air on Animal Planet in October. Seven year old Gus, a pedigree Chinese crested won hands down.

    Quick Getaway, Part 2

    http://www.rickscheibner.net/ 2008/ 06/ 22/ quick-getaway-part-2/

Ok, so Saturday evening, we’re scheduled to see a musical on the campus of the University of Portland. We were running just a bit behind and looking for a quick bite to eat somewhere in the neighborhood of the university. It was a little frustrating because, near a school that size, you’d think that eating places would be in plentiful supply.
