I have been involved in various capacity with five different specifications that define a GET (or GET-like) operation that takes as input an XPath expression used to pinpoint the subset of the XML document that should be retrieved (here is a quick history as of a couple of years ago, more has happened since).

Several years ago, Chris Ferris wrote a blog entry in which he explains that WS-Transfer is not WS-I Basic Profile (BP) compliant. Chris’ main point is correct: the WSDL document in appendix II of the WS-Transfer specification is not compliant with the WS-I Basic Profile.

A new Early Access (EA3) of the Connector is available. It implements the JSR 262 Public Review Specification. The JSR 262 defines a connector for JMX that uses Web Services to make JMX instrumentation available remotely. read more

VMware just announced the availability of a WS-Management (client side) library written in Perl "Starting with VMware's VIPerl Toolkit v1.5, an experimental version of Perl WS-Management library is included for infrastructure management with Web Services.
