XXX is a symbol in Roman numerology that represents the number 30. Commonly these Roman numerals are used in sporting events, such as the Olympics, and are very prominent when it comes to the advertisement and marketing of the Superbowl. Superbowl XXX was held in 1996.


XXX is also something most know as a symbol indicating pornography. It is most commonly used when one is describing a movie that contains sexually explicit scenes. XXX will often be found on store signs to make passersby aware of the content inside.


XXX can also be used when signing a letter or note to represent three kisses. The letter "o" would represent hugs in this case.
