zanzibar
Zanzibar is a mainly low lying island, covering an area of 2,461 sq km, its highest point reaching 120 meters.
It lives in the Indian Ocean, approximately 25 miles from the Tanzanian mainland coast, and 6 degrees south of the equator. It is 60 miles long and 20 miles wide.
The island of Zanzibar is filled with beautiful sandy beaches lined with coral reefs.
Tourists are drawn to Zanzibar for safari holidays in an area that boasts of lovely cultural sights and natural beauty.
Zanzibar is reputed to have some of the best diving in the world with the fascinating coral reef that surrounds it.
