F-F-Friday (6)
http://fightingwindmills.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 08/ 08/ f-f-friday-6/. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . My dad’s garden is giving us tomatoes, zucchini and yellow squash. Soon the cucumbers and beans will be ready. He has also planted beets, okra, pumpkins, watermelons and corn. I like how blossoms turn into fruits and vegetables.

Growing zucchini
http://www.picturesoftulips.com/ 2008-08-01-spring-flower-bulb/ growing-zucchini…Growing zucchini is so easy that at the end of the season, you could end up with so many zucchinis that you could easily fill your complete freezer. Unfortunately, once frozen, zucchini only is good for soups… You could of course only have 2 or 3 zucchini plants and cover your needs with it.

Zucchini Happiness: Four Ways
http://deniseskitchen.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 07/ 27/ zucchini-happiness-four-ways/…I love this time of year. It’s often a bit warmer out, the kids are out of school, and zucchinis are in season. Although you can easily get zucchinis all year long, they just aren’t as fresh when shipped from hundreds of miles away (usually from Mexico) in the winter.

Gratitude for Zucchini Madness by Barbara Quinn
http://barbaraquinnyearofgratitude.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 07/ zucchini-madness-by-b…I enjoy going out in the early morning and harvesting my herbs, zucchini, and zucchini flowers. The bright yellow zucchini blossoms definitely are happy, their faces turned up to the sun. This is the time of year when they go into insane production phase so it’s good to have lots of recipes for them.

Fun at a roadside stand
http://exquisiteimage.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 07/ 24/ fun-at-a-roadside-stand/I love the charm of a roadside fruit and veggie stand. There is something so comfy about it, stacks of fresh corn, tomatoes practically tumbling off tables. Everything is fresher, greener, more plump and lovely than what you can get in a grocery store. Plus of course the added benefit of supporting the local community!

Zucchini Days by Barbara Quinn
http://barbaraquinnyearofgratitude.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 07/ zucchini-days-by-barb…I don’t plant much in my garden anymore. I have lots of herbs, and a few zucchini plants. And boy do those four zucchini plants take up room and produce like mad. I grow them mostly for the flowers. I can find good tomatoes and other veggies in my local farm market, but those zucchini flowers are elusive and very expensive if you do find them.

Zucchini Blossoms
http://www.mymelange.net/ mymelange/ 2008/ 07/ zucchini-blossoms.htmlBefore I went to Italy, I had no idea what a fried zucchini blossom was. I was raised by a mother who grew, sliced, breaded and fried zucchini so much, it seemed like she was making a living from it and getting paid by the slice. It seemed like her full-time job. As a result, I grew up hating zucchini.

Squash Blossoms on My Mind

If you've never heard of them before, squash blossoms (also called zucchini blossoms) are the orange flowers that appear on the zucchini plant.
